Awaken curiosity and discover new worlds as we observe and document the wonders of nature all around us. Learn how to pay closer attention, ask questions, and make connections to our everyday lives. Through these immersive experiences, I hope to spark a love of learning, a fresh way of seeing, and a more wholehearted way of moving through the world.

I offer classes to all ages in how to begin a nature journaling practice and I'm excited to partner with local groups and organizations to teach these skills in the community. What is Nature Journaling?

Nature journaling is the practice of recording your observations of the natural world through words, pictures, and numbers. It is less about making pretty pictures and more about noticing, wondering, and documenting what you see outdoors.

Why Nature Journaling?

  • Sharpens observation skills – learn to notice details others might miss.

  • Builds curiosity and wonder – Journaling encourages us to ask questions and explore.

  • Strengthens memory and focus – Recording observations helps information “stick.”

  • Blends science, art, and writing – A natural way to integrate multiple subjects.

  • Encourages mindfulness – Slowing down outdoors fosters calm and attentiveness.

  • Nurtures a love of the outdoors – build lasting connections with nature.

We take care of what we love. And we learn to love by paying attention. It is my hope that through teaching others to slow down and notice the beauty all around them, they will experience the mental and physical benefits of connecting with nature. Then by extension, become stewards of that beauty as they move through the world and share it with others.

About Me

Hi, I’m Gracie! I am an artist and naturalist-in-training who loves to share the beauty and wonder I find in the world all around me. My husband, four kids and two Golden Retrievers live on the same land where I grew up! We love to explore the fields and woods that surround our home. After teaching art classes for three years, I am excited to expand my offerings to include nature journaling. I hope to instill a greater appreciation of nature and the ways it can positively impact the quality and experience of life.
